Project 365: Day 146 “The End”

The End

Project 365 got the best of me.  For all those other 365 photogs out there, I commend you for sticking it out.  And for those who actually finish, bravo!

I hate making excuses, but when you work two jobs (one as a photographer), then get home, feed and bath the kids, spend some time with the family, etc, etc.   There were many times that my 365 photo had to wait until the very end of the day.  And there were many days when I just made a crappy photo just so I could say I did.  I didn’t like that I wasn’t presenting my best work.  And some days, it felt very forced.  Photography is a very organic process for me and I can’t just whip up something in 15 minutes. If I’m not enjoying it and I’m not giving it my best, then its time to quit.

Stay tuned though.  I have many more projects coming up that I will be posting.

Oh yeah, and about the photo: This was a 30 second night exposure on the beach in Gulf Shores.

Moon Over Waco

I took this shot this morning at about 6:45. I noticed yesterday the way the moon was still shining bright and its position in the sky. I was driving by the water tower and knew I had to get out and get that shot. I was just glad the sky was clear this morning.

Camera settings: I was using my Canon 24-70mm L at ISO 100, f/2.8, and 1/60th of a second. I had to do some compositing in Photoshop because it was nearly impossible to get any details in the moon with one exposure. I also used the Topaz Adjust filter in Photoshop.
